It is rather easy to find the negatives in life. It seems, at times, that we are so inundated with negatives, that it is almost impossible to smell the roses on any given day. The news headlines scream of injustices and corrupt morals; the online chat rooms overflow with stories of crime and debasement. Even in our own personal lives it can be overwhelming as bills increase, prices increase and anxieties keep pace with it all....CLICK ON LINK ABOVE

And so it begins, the annual ritual of arguing over an expression: Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas. I’d love it if Christians would understand that theirs is not the only Faith on the planet!

Celebrations of the Solstice are millions of years older than the birth of Jesus. Many Druids would argue that church leaders placed the story of Christ’s birth at the Solstice to draw Pagans away from Yule rituals and into Christianity.

Autism has been defined as a disability in which a child learns, behaves, and interacts in every day situations. The Christmas season is upon us once more. This year more than other years we hear more and more of people who shun humanity because they are too wrapped up in themselves and their own problems. Of people who would rather have that extra bottle of wine on their Christmas table than drop that money into the nearest Salvation Army kettle. The wine will be drunk but in the kettle it could have done some good for those who are needy and who won’t have anything to put on their tables. Each Christmas we are reminded of humanity and the goodness it can do to reunite people through the popular book by Charles Dickens and of course the many different variations represented in movies and a musical. Anyone can do a kind deed here and there but what does it take to become a kind person? In order to learn how to be kind you have to learn the basics. Become a keen listener and a conscientious observer. Have a sympathetic/empathetic heart and be eager to lend a helping hand. In addition, you have to be generous and sincere. That all sounds pretty easy; and, it is; but, it takes practice to get good at it; and, it may even take some practice to become sincere. First of all, don't knock yourself out trying to be kind all of the time. It's highly unlikely that any human being has ever accomplished that task

 

 

Many people of the 21st century create their own innovative Christmas traditions for a variety of reasons: They have left home and married, with kids of their own, and need something to call their nuclear family's own at the Holiday Season. Others do this in order to escape the chain of dysfunctional holiday behavior and commercialism, and this is a smart thing to do.

Perhaps some folks have no family and are the last of their tribe altogether, so they do something unique. Some go on vacations to tropical climates from Christmas to New Year's and
